A Cookie Tribute
Ambition urged me to look into building a web site. Those who knew me thought that I was just going through a mid-life crisis. It will pass eventually.:-)
In the Summer of 2005, I started taking classes on baking: bread, cookies, cakes, etc. I was very excited about this newly acquired knowledge. I wanted to share it with everyone I know, and anyone I don’t yet know through the World Wide Web.
In spite of all odds, I had one thing going for me, commonsense. It told me to research carefully. Site Build It!, affectionately known as SBI!, came up on one of my Google searches. Needless to say, I studied its many features, what it offered, and compared it to other hosting companies.
By this time, half of me was ready to take the plunge, but the other was still playing the devil advocate. You see, I wanted not only a platform to share information but also a means to a second income stream.
I still had doubt as to whether SBI! could help me realize my second goal. I knew what my then potential Web site would be about, but was uncertain of its scope. I certainly don’t plan on baking anything at home and selling them online. It is a possible option, nonetheless, but just not my desire.
I officially became an SBIer in November 2005. I admit that the road has not always been carpeted with fresh roses because I have zero technical ability. I’m not disappointed, however. SBI! shows me the right ways, but I must be the motivated driver who starts the engine and brings the car to the finish line. The process is economical, slow, but very effective.
As I am preparing to build yet another Web site, I once again perform due-diligent research. When my search unmistakenly steers me back to Site Build It!, I knew, without a doubt, that I had made the right choice the first time.
As retirement is grinning at me around the corner, I will soon walk down the road along with cookies-in-motion.com to meet it. How about you?
