A Shortbread Recipe for
Cookie and Cream Cheese Lovers
This shortbread recipe produces soft, rich, and cakey shortbreads. It is certainly a big leap from the traditional texture.


Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease or line an 8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
Cream softened butter, cream cheese, and confectioners’ sugar together on medium high speed for about 3 minutes or until fluffy.
Mix in vanilla extract and citrus zest if used. Finally, fold in flour until dough just comes together. DO NOT over-mix.
Transfer dough to prepared baking pan. Bake for about 20 minutes or until edges are golden and start to pull away from side of pan.
Cool cream cheese shortbread cookies completely on wire rack before cutting into wedges or squares.
This shortbread recipe certainly adds a new meaning to shortbread cookies.
