The Ultimate Valentine Cookies


Celebrate February 14 by baking valentine cookies for your sweetheart. This is an easy recipe for cookie lovers to show off their affection and creativity.




Ingredients:
Confectioners’ sugar1 cup
Unsalted butter, softened1 cup or 2 sticks
White vinegar1 Tbsp
All purpose flour2¼ cups
Ground ginger1½ tsp
Baking powder¾ tsp
Baking soda¼ tsp
Salt¼ tsp
Red food coloring

Direction:

    Before adding dry ingredients

  • Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line cookie sheets with parchment paper. Sift flour, ground ginger, baking soda, salt together and set it aside.



  • Cream softened butter with confectioners’ sugar and white vinegar using an electric mixer until well combined.

  • Fold in the dry ingredients. Divide dough in half and mix red food color into one half. (If dough is too dry, add some water or milk, 1 teaspoon at a time.)

    Ready for baking


  • Roll dough on a lightly floured surface, about 1/8 inch thick. Use cookie cutters or templates to cut into heart shapes of different designs.

  • Valentine cookies Bake for about 5 minutes or until set but not brown. Allow your custom-made valentine cookies to cool on cookie sheet for 1 or 2 minutes before carefully transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
