Heavenly Applesauce Cookies


Great tasting applesauce cookies are so quick and easy to prepare that any cookie lover can make them. These sugarless cookies have a cakey texture. They’re my kind of sweet.

ingredients for applesauce cookies

All purpose flour1 cup
Cinnamon1 tsp
Baking soda1 tsp
Salt˝ tsp
Your favorite nuts˝ cup
Quick oats, not instant1 cup
Raisins1 cup
Applesauce1 cup
Eggs2 large
Vegetable oil˝ cup
Vanilla extract1 tsp

    Mixture of dry ingredients
  • Soak raisins in water for at least 2 hours, preferable overnight.

  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit, and line cookie sheets with parchment paper.

  • Combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, your favorite nuts, quick oats, and softened raisins in a bowl.

  • Beat eggs with vegetable oil in a separate bowl. Mix in vanilla extract.

    Oh, by the way, do not forget to add applesauce, the most important ingredient, to this mixture. Dave (the Buckeye Guy), thank you for your reminder.

  • Add dry mixture to the wet mixture and blend them well.

  • Drop dough by tablespoons onto prepared cookie sheets, spacing about 1-inch apart. Bake them for 8 to 10 minutes.

  • Cool cookies completely on wire racks before serving. This recipe makes about 2 dozen applesauce cookies of approximately 2-inches each in diameter.
